Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality has opened submissions for the annual Grants in Aid to community non-profit groups seeking financial assistance.
Applications will be accepted until Jan. 12 from community-based groups, with no late applications accepted.
The group seeking a grant must be non-profit, and preference will be given to registered societies, according to the municipality’s application guidelines. Among these requirements, groups must be based in Sun Peaks with “the programs primarily for the benefit of Sun Peaks residents, or special events held in Sun Peaks.”
The grant is available for capital and event projects that strengthen and enhance the well-being of Sun Peaks and promote volunteerism.
While there is no set format or application form for the grant, applications should include an explanation of need, latest financial statements of the organization and projected income and expense statements, explanation of the benefit to the community and anticipated number of volunteer hours and participant numbers.
Council may request applicants appear in person to further explain their application.
For further information on the requirements for the grant process visit the municipality’s grant guidelines. For any questions contact Cheryl Taylor-Gale, director of finance at dof@sunpeaksmunicipality.ca.
