Ascent Systems Technologies (AST) recently tasked students in Thompson Rivers University’s Architecture and Technology Department to come up with a “sustainable green home” design for Sun Peaks, based on actual building lots in the community.
The designs included geothermal heating, solar energy systems, waste water recovery systems and heat retention through proper insulation. Several were presented to Sun Peaks Municipal Council demonstrating what sustainable housing at Sun Peaks might look like in the future.
The winning design will receive $300 from AST and two lift tickets from Sun Peaks Resort.
