
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, the Sun Peaks Village Day Lodge was broken into, resulting in the theft of a secured ATM.
Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment frontline officers were called during the break-and-enter, Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson said.
“According to the investigation, a white pickup truck was used to damage the building, then two people entered the business and stole an ATM from inside,” Evelyn said.
One of the suspects is described as wearing large red coveralls, boots, winter gloves, a black hooded sweater and balaclava and the other large dark coveralls, boots, winter gloves, a grey hooded sweater with a balaclava.
Significant damage was confirmed as a result of the break-in and the doors to the day lodge will be boarded up until repairs take place, according to an official statement by Sun Peaks Resort LLP.
“Due to specific components required, the repairs won’t occur immediately,” the statement read. “We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and are doing everything we can to ensure as timely a repair as possible
