Nicole Perry is a Thompson Rivers University graduate of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Now a community reporter in Sun Peaks, she gets to explore her passion for storytelling along with the outdoor activities the area has to offer.
Nicole grew up in a small town in northern B.C. called Smithers where she learned to ski and never stopped. Since moving to Kamloops for school, she discovered her love of investigative journalism and has goals of travelling around the world to meet as many people as possible and tell their stories. Her favourite stories to write are human rights based, focusing on how to work towards solving societal injustices. In her free time, she can be found doing something active, probably running, but also enjoys reading and going out with friends.
With just over a week until the municipal by-election in Sun Peaks, SPIN hosted a public forum where each candidate for council answered questions identified by the public.
With rising parent concerns when the change was announced, Sun Peaks Community Daycare has been operating under the Early Learning Society of Kamloops this past month.
The village was packed with fans of this resort hosted event, as skiers and snowboarders stunted their way down park features set up in the centre of town.
