Nicole Perry is a Thompson Rivers University graduate of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Now a community reporter in Sun Peaks, she gets to explore her passion for storytelling along with the outdoor activities the area has to offer.
Nicole grew up in a small town in northern B.C. called Smithers where she learned to ski and never stopped. Since moving to Kamloops for school, she discovered her love of investigative journalism and has goals of travelling around the world to meet as many people as possible and tell their stories. Her favourite stories to write are human rights based, focusing on how to work towards solving societal injustices. In her free time, she can be found doing something active, probably running, but also enjoys reading and going out with friends.
Dave Burnham, Katherine Campbell, Brian Gillespie and Alice Muirhead are all in the running for Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality council. Here’s what you should know.
By mid-April, the committee will present an action plan to council including parking, sidewalk and website improvements to make facilities and services controlled by the municipality more accessible.
In order to receive Housing Accelerator Fund money from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality has to meet housing supply targets.
