To promote Nutrition Month this March, Breakfast for Learning is encouraging Canadians to eat healthy and to make it a habit to eat a nourishing breakfast with family.
“Proper nutrition is an essential part of the healthy development of our children and youth,” said Wendy Wong, president and CEO, Breakfast for Learning. “Nutritious meals and snacks help ensure students have the energy they need to stay alert and engaged in class throughout the school day, and well-nourished students have improved memory, problem solving skills, creative abilities and self-esteem.”
“This March, join Breakfast for Learning and our partners to celebrate healthy eating with your friends and family,” she added.
Breakfast for Learning’s mission also includes making sure that every child in Canada attends school well-nourished and ready to learn. With the help of generous supporters, the organization helps over 5,000 nutrition programs for children throughout Canada. These programs provide healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks to over 267,000 children and youth.
Nutrition articles, recipes and healthy tips are available online at the Breakfast for Learning website.
