Security at Sun Peaks: New security presence in town

Sun Peaks Municipality’s request for proposal for a local security presence at Sun Peaks has been contracted to Village Security Services.
The company, owned by Dan Stebner in partnership with Jonathan Sim, offers a local security presence and timely response to alarm signals.
“We’ll help bylaw enforcement after hours, record and report and contact RCMP if required,” says Stebner. “If alarms (went off) there’s been no one to respond; it’s too expensive to have response from town. If there’s an actual alarm, we’ll respond within 10 minutes, and follow the alarm protocol.”
Village Security Services was launched on August 1, and is run from a retail space in the Fireside Lodge. Security personnel can be seen patrolling the village in their marked vehicle.
“We’re trying to convey to criminals that there are eyes and ears out there, and Sun Peaks is not a good place for thieves to work,” concludes Stebner.
