Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality (SPMRM) shared that the progress is continuing on efforts to reopen the community health centre, emphasizing that the process, while complex, is moving along.
In a recent update, SPMRM’s chief administrative officer Deanna Campbell confirmed the municipality has been working closely with Dr. Catherine Nowierski to bring the clinic back into operation and a draft agreement is currently in development.
“We know it may not seem or feel like it, but as one of my staff pointed out this morning, we’re actually moving through a really complex process quicker than what happened in any other situation,” Campbell said during the Dec. 2 council meeting.
Officials reiterated that restoring the clinic is an urgent priority for the community.
“Getting the health centre reopened as soon as possible remains a priority,” Campbell said, noting that collaboration with medical partners will continue in the coming weeks.
More details will be released as the agreement progresses and next steps are finalized.
