Missing person documentary premieres today

A documentary made by three Kamloops filmmakers on the disappearance of Sun Peaks resident Ryan Shtuka is now online and will premiere in Kamloops tonight.

Peaks and Valleys: The Search for Ryan Shtuka, created by Jared Featherstone, Russ Walton and Allan McVicar, tells the story of the night Shtuka disappeared and what has happened since. Production over the past year was supported by a Telus Storyhive grant of $50,000.

It features Sun Peaks’ Mayor Al Raine, Shtuka’s parents Heather and Scott Shtuka, friends and family from his home in Beaumont, Alta., those who helped on the search and Sun Peaks Independent News.

A screening of the 20 minute film will take place in Kamloops tonight, July 15, at the Paramount Theatre.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. start. Seats are limited and first come first served by donation to Kamloops Search and Rescue.
