The village was filled with an eager audience while the Torchlight Parade participants made their way up the chairlift.

New Year’s Eve in Sun Peaks heard many ooh’s and aah’s of an enthusiastic audience.

Kicking off the celebrations was the First Flight Big Air competition, showcasing athletes throwing down some epic aerial tricks for an enthralled audience.

“The fireworks are great but the Big Air competition is my favourite,” says Wes Ross, a return audience member. “It was fantastic, it made my night.”

The audience then turned it’s attention to an enchanting glow stick parade followed by the traditional Torchlight Parade that wowed and mesmerized people of all ages.

Bringing the celebrations to a conclusion was a fantastic display of fireworks that lit up a cloudless, starry sky, making Sun Peaks the picture perfect place to usher in 2014.
