Break and enter thief in Sun Peaks hotels

bc-100127-rcmp-signKamloops Rural RCMP are investigating three reported  break and enters in hotels at Sun Peaks which have taken place over the past month. Closer examination has shown attempts were made to gain entry to many other rooms in hotels. In all instances the suspect uses a small pry bar to force the doors open, leaving distinctive marks. Once inside the target is always cash.

The suspect always works alone and is quite bold, as he speaks to patrons of the hotels — even claiming to be a maintenance man in one instance, thereby gaining entry to a room to fix a toilet. Witnesses report the suspect loitering in halls ways and having a grey beard in earlier reports and  grey stubble in the latest break on March 5, 2014. The fellow police are looking for is a Caucasian male in his 50’s with grey hair,   5’10” tall, 160 lbs, either a grey beard or stubble and wears a red and white distinctive ski jacket.

Several of the businesses are upgrading their security cameras as they work with police to locate and arrest this sneaky bandit.   Police feel this thief lives in close proximity to Sun Peaks and want to put this man in jail and end his crime spree.
