The Dew Tour AM Series returns to Sun Peaks on March 27 and 28 for two days of big air, killer lines and sweet tunes.
North America’s top amateur competitors will battle it out, throwing down their best tricks in the Sun Peaks Terrain Park or taking to the skies in the newly added Big Air challenge as they vie for their share of the $30,000 prize pool.
Aidan Kelly, director of sales and marketing for Sun Peaks Resort Corporation said the event was tracking to be a massive success.
“We’re really excited about the return of the Dew Tour AM Series and the exposure it brings for Sun Peaks,” Kelly said.
“The Dew Tour AM Series crew visited Sun Peaks in December to get things rolling from a planning perspective, which really puts us ahead of the game from last year.”
The extra preparation time, along with the experience gained from hosting last year’s event, means Sun Peaks is on track for an even bigger and better event.
“All-in-all, it should be a bit more of a festival atmosphere around the village base this year.”
There will also be a few changes to the format this year, with ski and snowboarding events being held on separate days — ski events will be held on Friday, snowboarding on Saturday. The newly added Big Air competition will take place each evening.
