Hockey league gear stolen

RCMP CarThousands of dollars of sporting equipment was stolen, including hockey gear belonging to the Sun Peaks Hockey League (SPHL), in a spate of storage locker robberies in Kamloops sometime during the night of July 9.

Mike Billheimer, SPHL organizer, is a partial-owner of one of the five storage lockers that were broken into and ransacked at Big Steel Box on Salish Road.

In addition to personal hockey equipment and a mountain bike, three hockey sticks belonging to the SPHL were also taken. All are either marked with the name “Mikey” or with SPHL branding,

Anyone with any information on the crime or the stolen items is encouraged to contact Tk’emlups Rural RCMP on 250-314-1800 and cite case number 2015-21553.
