Local students make winter a bit warmer for many

Ski school group As one of their We Day commitments for 2013, the students at Sun Peaks’ Discovery Centre for Balanced Education pledged to make winter a little warmer for children and adults less fortunate than themselves. They launched their Coats for Kids campaign, setting up drop boxes in the Sun Peaks village for people to donate their old and under-used outerwear.

“Another successful We Day campaign is complete,” reports the students’ @KOOL teacher Laurel Seafoot. “We filled an SUV with winter gear to be dropped of at the Kamloops Boys and Girls Club. They were thrilled!”

The teachers and students send out their appreciation to everyone who made a donation to their chosen cause, as well as to Sotheby’s International Realty at Sun Peaks and Bolacco Cafe and Bakery for acting as jacket drop stations.
