Planned power outage scheduled in Sun Peaks, Heffley Creek

B.C. Hydro will temporarily shut off power in Sun Peaks and Heffley Creek on Sept. 14.

B.C. Hydro has scheduled a power outage on Sunday, Sept. 14, to conduct essential maintenance that will affect Sun Peaks and Heffley Creek. The outage will run from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

“About 14,000 customers in the North Thompson and Robson Valley areas rely on a single, radial transmission line. To maintain and strengthen the reliability of the line, BC Hydro needs to conduct annual work to perform some critical maintenance, repairs and upgrades to this transmission line,” B.C. Hydro said in a statement.
