Racin’ Jason White revs up for fifth season

White’s first race this season will bring him back to the site of his best career finish in the series last year, the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport) in Bowmanville, Ontario.

Western Canada’s only full time competitor in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series, Jason White, is revving up for his fifth season on the circuit.

The Sun Peaks, B.C. resident will again be competing in the #21 Dodge, but notes a few significant changes in this season’s organization with the entire racing operation coming out of the DJK Racing shop under the direction of D.J. Kennington, and the introduction of Brian Ellas as the team’s new crew chief. The car, too, will have a different look on the track.

“Our agreement with A&W Canada has changed from previous years,” explains White. “They’ll still be part of the program, however they chose to scale back and we’re making arrangements for other partners to join us and still have some opportunities.  We’ll hopefully be making further announcements shortly.”

White’s first race this season will bring him back to the site of his best career finish in the series last year, the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport) in Bowmanville, Ontario.

“That race last year was a real boost for us,” says White. “We’d already had a couple of top 10 finishes and then to run sixth on that tough road course really gave our whole team momentum.”
