A young Sun Peaks racer has been performing well in her first season of racing in Australia.

Zanna Farrell, a 15-year-old skier, has spent the last decade training with the Sun Peaks Alpine Club, and is now putting her skills to the test, competing in her first year of FIS races.

Her first FIS race was held on July 30 at Australia’s Mt Hotham. Farrell finished in sixth place and eighth place over two days of racing GS.

From August 10 to 14, Farrell competed in two GS races and two slalom races at Thredbo, finishing ninth in the Australian Championship GS and picking up a first and a third place in the U18 category.

On August 22, Farrell represented Australia to compete in her first Australia – New Zealand Continental Cup race in Perisher, finishing in ninth position overall and as the third fastest Australian racer.
