Nicole Perry is a Thompson Rivers University graduate of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Now a community reporter in Sun Peaks, she gets to explore her passion for storytelling along with the outdoor activities the area has to offer.
Nicole grew up in a small town in northern B.C. called Smithers where she learned to ski and never stopped. Since moving to Kamloops for school, she discovered her love of investigative journalism and has goals of travelling around the world to meet as many people as possible and tell their stories. Her favourite stories to write are human rights based, focusing on how to work towards solving societal injustices. In her free time, she can be found doing something active, probably running, but also enjoys reading and going out with friends.
The CEO of the non-profit STEPS that operates the health centre spoke to SPIN about transferral processes and how people can be waitlisted for a doctor in Sun Peaks.
‘When you’re allowing someone to be authentic and to tell their story, you
rarely go wrong,’: How the chefs of Sun Peaks are sharing their culinary talents, personal experiences and heritage.
