Darling of the couch concert circuit, Jenie Thai is taking her career in upward directions.
She’s recently been selected by Edmonton, Alta. radio station Lite 97.5 FM as one of 10 artists for their emerging artist spotlight program.
“This means that I’ve been given the opportunity to receive $10,000 to put towards developing my career (recording, touring, marketing etc) and receive a slot to sing at this year’s Edmonton Folk Music Festival! This is incredible!” says Thai in a recent newsletter. “$10,000 would allow me to rehearse band members, record a new album, and be able to share the new music with all of you and many others! Also, to sing Edmonton Folk Fest’s mainstage has been a dream of mine since I was 14 — what a crazy opportunity!
