Anyone interested in running for office must secure a nomination package from the TNRD office in Kamloops (300-465 Victoria St.), online (www.tnrd.bc.ca) or at the Sun Peaks Improvement District office located at #3-1130 Alpine Road., Sun Peaks. The package must be received by TNRD’s Chief Election Officer Lyle Huntley at the TNRD office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. from April 27 to May 7.
To qualify as a candidate, you must be 18 and older, a Canadian citizen and have been a B.C. resident for at least six months since Oct. 27, 2009. In addition, individuals should not be disqualified by law from voting or holding public office.
