Sun Peaks Resort opens its doors to over 400 young racers from around the province for the 9th Annual Rio Tinto Alcan Nancy Greene Husky Snow Star Festival from March 25 to 26. This two-day event is the largest youth event of its kind in Canada, and offers a fun filled season wrap-up for youth aged five to 11 who are in the Nancy Greene Ski League.
Among the festival’s events are team or individual glalom races on OSV, and skills competitions on Exhibition and Intimidator including jumping, kombi, speed trap and moguls. Glalom is a combination of giant slalom and slalom designed for young racers.
Nancy Greene will be on site for the festival to cheer on the racers, pose for photos and sign autographs.
The Nancy Greene Ski League is a ski program for children that builds their foundational skiing and racing skills through the development of the skiing ABC’S – agility, balance, coordination, strength/speed.
