Locals and visitors will have plenty of reasons to party this season, with local venues The Club and Bottoms Bar and Grill preparing their lineups for the coming months.

Daniel Whyte, the newly appointed supervisor of The Club, is looking forward to delivering some quality musical acts and entertainment to Sun Peaks in his new role.

With a background managing bars and restaurants around the world, including Australia, Canada, and the Channel Islands, Whyte is enjoying his new role in Sun Peaks.

Following a successful “soft-opening” of The Club on Nov. 22, Whyte is planning a kick-off weekend from Dec. 4 to 6 featuring DJs and entertainment, culminating with a #BELOWZERO party on Saturday, Dec. 6, hosted by Kamloops’ DJs Nouveau.

Whyte is planning a string of theme-nights parties throughout the season to provide some after-dark entertainment for locals and visitors, including an 80s night, an International night, and a Vegas night. Thursday’s will see the return of “locals’ night” to The Club with free entry, free pool and drink specials.

“I’d really like to progress the level of live music we offer at The Club, shooting for at least one high calibre band and DJ each week.”

Those looking for a place to party during the week will be keen to head to Bottoms on a Tuesday for “locals’ night,” — a Sun Peaks tradition for almost 20 years, featuring visiting and local DJs and drink specials.

Bottoms kicked off the season with their Opening Day Shaker on November 22, which featured DJ Mindil Beach and the launch of the Doorstep Project film from Inflik Media.

The next event on the Bottoms social calendar will be an Old School “locals’ night” on Tuesday, December 4.

Nathan Cross, manager of Bottoms, said a range of events were planned for the rest of the season, including four silent disco nights. These popular events feature live DJs dueling for the crowd’s affections as they spin tunes into headphones supplied on the evening.

Cross is also planning a karaoke night and more events showcasing the work by Inflik Media.

For those looking for some tunes while they dine out, Powder Hounds will again be offering live music on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the season, leading into a line-up of entertainment every weekend in March, known as March Music Madness.
