Nicole Perry is a Thompson Rivers University graduate of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Now a community reporter in Sun Peaks, she gets to explore her passion for storytelling along with the outdoor activities the area has to offer.
Nicole grew up in a small town in northern B.C. called Smithers where she learned to ski and never stopped. Since moving to Kamloops for school, she discovered her love of investigative journalism and has goals of travelling around the world to meet as many people as possible and tell their stories. Her favourite stories to write are human rights based, focusing on how to work towards solving societal injustices. In her free time, she can be found doing something active, probably running, but also enjoys reading and going out with friends.
Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks is leading the Shoulder 2 Shoulder Retreat for ill and injured veterans and RCMP along with their support person or caregiver.
One of many courses offered in Sun Peaks this winter includes a big mountain pathway program geared toward skiing and teaching in consequential terrain.
